Organizing the World's Information

In the last 25 years, three significant revolutions have enabled most of the world's information to be organized and universally accessible. Such a task, which is Google's corporate mission, requires, however, significant technical challenges to be overcome.

In this talk, we will review such challenges, describing Google's system architecture as well as how it opens the door for solving other interesting problems and for supporting new applications. We will also highlight interesting research topics and briefly comment on Google's culture and work environment.
