On September 16th, 2022, Ricardo was invited to talk on knowledge management with knowledge graphs at the Machine Learning in Engineering (MLE) days 2022 at TU Hamburg.
The talk took place in the session on speech processing (https://mle-days.hamburg/session7.html) and was chaired by Prof. Chris Biemann (University Hamburg).
The overall theme of the session revolved around the importance of automatic natural language processing in all contexts where written or spoken language is to be analyzed, produced, or made content searchable. This session will present written and spoken language processing approaches in several real-world application areas.
The talk by Ricardo was dubbed ‘Industrial Documentation and Knowledge Management with Natural Language Understanding. The requirements for the availability and retrieval of documentation, FAQs, support documents, and forms are driving the development of new AI methods. The mostly heterogeneous data has to be transformed into a unified format to get fast and easy access to existing enterprise data. Knowledge Graphs are ideal for this purpose. In this presentation, Ricardo showed how modern AI methods can be used to transfer texts into Knowledge Graphs and query them using chatbots and voice assistants.
Other talks were given by Prof. Timo Baumann (OTH Regensburg) and Dr. Patrick McCrae (Langtec, Hamburg).
