Our research group had the pleasure of hosting the Future Cloud Networks (FCN 2025) Workshop at the University of Hamburg in September (25-26). The event brought together 58 participants from 31 institutions across 14 countries
Day 1 started with the Opening Ceremony by Prof. Dr. Aaron Ding and Prof. Dr. Janick Edinger and quickly set the tone with the first keynote, Serverless Anywhere, by Prof. Dr. Valeria Cardellini. Discussions on hot trends and our new "Sticky Opinions" session kept the morning dynamic and the discussions alive, while afternoon breakout groups fostered in-depth exchanges. The day concluded with a boat trip along Hamburg’s Alster, where research conversations mixed with fresh air and city views, followed by a relaxed social dinner at the Hamburg Town Hall.
Day 2 began with reflections from the boat trip and shifted to the second keynote, Edge Clouds & AI, by Dr. Alexandre Da Silva Veith. Senior researchers and Junior PhD students engaged in the idea highlight session and kept the discussion ongoing.
A selection of photos from the workshop — from keynote moments to the boat trip and dinner — can be found in the gallery below.
