DIS/TRUSTING AI ?
Judith Simon
Surrendering agency to a decision making entity, is fundamentally based on one thing: trust If we cannot trust the applications and tools that we gift power to, should they be used at all? At a time when AI is used for an abundance of uses, the increased potential for assistance, also increases the potential for abuse and bias, conscious or otherwise. Judith Simon is a Professor for the ethics in information technology at the University of Hamburg, and joins us to discuss the very notion of trust, the epistemology of the term, and presents ways of viewing the agent-patient relationship we often have with external decision making.
