Objectives and Contents
Modern information technology endangers the privacy of users: Technological developments, economic interests, homeland security and the increasing willingness of people to take their own privacy no longer seriously go hand in hand. In this lecture, legal and technical solutions to privacy protection are presented and discussed. The lecture aims to raise awareness with a view to the various aspects of privacy and data protection, from international politics to personal life.
Course Organization and Availibility
This lecture is part of the module "Recht der Informationswirtschaft" (Bachelor Wirtschaftsinformatik) and can also be selected as "Wahlbereich" by computer science students. The lecture (2 SWS) is reguarly held in the winter term and is offered as a block course. During the exam (60 minutes time) all written documents are allowed (open book). Interested students are encouraged to give voluntary student presentations (result is included into the final module result with 25 percent weight). All statements without warranty.
