Short Biography
Prof. Dr. Wilfried Honekamp worked as a visiting professor at the Department of Computer Science on the research project HITS-Moni. After various positions in teaching and research, he has been a professor in Applied Computer Science at the Hamburg Police University College since November 2014. His areas of teaching and research are among others cybercrime, IT forensics and IT security as well as IT systems and procedures of the police. In the project "Cybercrime Response Readiness", funded by Hamburg police, Prof. Honekamp and his staff identify the demands for timely responses to current and future cybercrime phenomena. In this context, his projects on the cybersecurity of naval navigation systems and on fast IT data acquisition each were awarded with the Hamburg Security Award in 2015 and 2018, respectively.
