Facebook plans to fill 10,000 jobs in the IT industry in Europe to develop the Metaverse as a new, an immersive Internet. The metaverse is intended to merge reality and virtuality and make them tangible through augmented and virtual reality technologies. Prof. Dr. Frank Steinicke from the Human-Computer Interaction group was interviewed about current developments in the ARD Tagesschau.
