Keynote at EMRN Conference in Alicante

Frank Steinicke gave the keynote about „Virtual Humans“ at the II EMRN Conference: «Exploring the Intersection of AI and the Metaverse.», which was held on June 11-13, in Alicante.
The conference focussed on topics such as AI integration in the Metaverse, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications, and the significant societal, ethical, and legal challenges these technologies are creating. Experts and professionals from around the world came together to analyze how AI is transforming the digital experience and how it is being integrated into the most advanced virtual environments.
The event was organized within the framework of Project for the implementation of the Charter of Digital Rights in specific environments financed by Red.es and the European Metaverse Research Network (EMRN), two key initiatives that aim to ensure the ethical and responsible development of emerging digital technologies, with special attention to citizens’ rights in the digital space.
Prof. Dr. Mel Slater from the University of Barcelona and partner of the PRESENCE project was one co-organizer of the event.
