Awards for Hamburg’s HCI students

Excellent news form our HCI students, which just received two honors.
First, our students of the HCI study received the Best Demo Award at the 12th Workshop of the Special Interest Group on Virtual and Augmented Reality of the German Computer Science Society (GI VR/AR).
More than 120 participants attended the workshop, which was held at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in St. Augustin.
Clara von Bargen and Christian Schatzschneider presented the result of a student project of the HCI study called Planetary Rift, which was performed in cooperation with the Planetarium Hamburg.
The goal of the project was to develop an application that solves an existing problem at the Planetarium Hamburg.
The other team members were Britta Noack and Felix Templin.

Second, our students of the HCI study received an honorable mention for Best Paper Award at GI VR/AR 2015.
Supervisor Dennis Krupke presented the paper "Evaluation of Control Methods in a Supernatural Zero-Gravity Flight Simulator“, which was mentioned as one of the three best papers at the workshop.
The authors of this paper, which appears in the proceedings of the GI-Workshop VR/AR, are Paul Lubos, Lena Demski, Jonas Brinkhoff, Gregor Weber, Fabian Willke, and Frank Steinicke
The paper summarizes the results of a project of the HCI study.
