Motivation
Flatsharing is one of the best ways to reduce living costs and meet new people. Unfortunately this also means having some chores to do. A really important point regarding this is cleaning the flat. This may lead to conflicts even in smaller flats. Nobody really likes chores!
To solve such issues we created LimpiON.
Approach
LimpiON assigns actual chores to the lodgers, containing a certain time interval to accomplish them. There are some built in tasks, but these may be edited. One may also add new chores or delete existing ones. All in one, everything is personalisable! The smart thing about our app is the use of beacons. A beacon sends regularly its specific ID which is getting captured and processed by bluetooth capable devices.
In our case, the lodger receives a notification on his/her smartphone when he/she enters the flat and so in the range of a specific beacon. This notification reminds the lodger about his/her current chore(s). When selecting it, you get the screen with all personal current chores and those of the other lodgers living in your flat.
The automatical assignment of chores is a fairer and more peaceful way of getting things done in your flatsharing. It also avoids discussions about who has to do which task at what time, as it also offers a complete display of your lodgers, their current chores, and deadlines.
