Personalities and Gestures of Companions
Summary
The goal of this project was to implement companions for a digital training program. This project goes along with the other projects of the hci practice in the summer semester of 2021.
Companions play an important role in the success of a training. The choice of fitting companions were handled with Personas of possible Users. For the implementation of the personalities we used the unity engine and animations from the website mixamo.com.
In the program the user can choose between three personalities and regulate the intensity of the character with the help of a slider. The first character, Fabienne, is athletic and competitive. Nilam is highly motivating and friendly. The last character is called Hannes and represents an unathletic but sympathetic person.
In this way we created three possible companions with three different intensities to motivate a potential user individually. Future works could focus on implementing a bigger variety of companions and merging all the projects from the hci practice.
