The EXPO is back! A true institution at the University of Hamburg's Department of Computer Science, this dynamic poster and demo session once again brought students together to present the impressive results of their projects, lab work, and final theses.
This year’s EXPO 2025 showcased 12 innovative projects from across the department. Attendees were treated to posters, live demos, and interactive exhibits exploring a wide range of topics—from AI-driven sign language recognition and autonomous drone mapping to immersive VR experiences addressing societal challenges. It was a fantastic demonstration of how robotics, human-computer interaction, and machine learning are shaping real-world solutions.
We are thrilled to announce this year’s winning teams!
1st Place (300€):
(Sven Schreiber) Signer Segmentation for Sign Language Recognition Using Segment Anything Model
2nd Place (200€):
(Jolie Bast, Lea Wedmann, Moritz Friedrich) Touch vs. Tangibles: a comparative study of interaction methods for a multi-user flood crisis simulation on a touch table
3rd Place (100€):
