Prototyping-Lab
next.media Hamburg has organized an exciting project for this semester: the KI/VR Prototyping Lab 24/25 (https://www.nextmedia-hamburg.de/programm/prototyping-lab/). After great success in recent years, this year there are 5 media partners who want to create a prototype on the topic of Virtual Reality (VR) or Machine Learning (ML/AI) together with you.
What is it?
Media companies are looking for innovative solutions in the fields of VR and ML. Students from various universities (HAW, University of Hamburg, FH Wedel, Hamburg Media School) come together to develop apps and prototypes on the themes of the media partners in an interdisciplinary team. The process is described on the project page: https://www.nextmedia-hamburg.de/programm/prototyping-lab/
Why is it cool?
• You work in an interdisciplinary team from various universities
• Your clients are real media companies, giving you valuable insights and interesting contacts
• You work with real data sets and engaging problem statements
• You will receive 9 credit points for the elective area (base.camp project)
• Since it is an intensive project, you will be funded with a monthly stipend of 500 Euros for 3 months
• The prototype belongs to you! If there is mutual interest, you can sell it to the media company or further develop the prototype under your terms
• There is intensive support from next.media, the media companies, and the universities
How can I participate?
You apply directly with next.media through an online form. Your application should include a short motivational text, indicating which projects (VR or ML related) you are best suited for. The number of spots is limited to a maximum of 5 students, with UHH students being considered as IT experts for the projects. Therefore, the project is especially suitable for MA students or BA students with good programming skills and ideally project experience in the field of VR or AI/ML.
The application deadline is September 15, 2024. We are looking forward to your application! You can find a presentation about the Prototyping Lab here.
