Virtual Münster City Visualization
We worked with the Visualization and Computer Graphics (VisCG) research group at the University of Münster to create a virtual 3D model of the city of Münster, NRW, in cooperation with the Amt für Stadtentwicklung, Stadtplanung und Verkehrsplanung as well as the Vermessungs- und Katasteramt of the city of Münster. 3D building models were reconstructed based on geospatial data. More than 200k buildings were rendered in real time based on an inhouse developed Tiny Graphics Toolbox (tgt). The visualization was complemented with a clipmapping implementation using detailed aerial photos. The city model was used in different research projects. More information on this (discontinued) project can be found on the VisCG website.
