Final Presentation of the Project "Legal Tech Innovation"
29 July 2025, by Marten Borchers
On Friday, the final event of the Legal Tech Innovation teaching project took place, for which we, Anton Sefkow, Franziska Jensen, Lukas Musumeci, and Marten Borchers from the University of Hamburg, collaborated with Melanie Eilers and Maximilian Meister from the commercial law firm Graf von Westphalen (GvW).
In the project, we collaborated with students Sophie Gerlach, Lea Jamilia Pawlak, Paul Enders, Felix Kunde, and Jan Wittler to examine a real workflow at the GvW law firm through the lens of legal design thinking. The idea was to develop skills in an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary manner and, in particular, to strengthen data literacy and algorithmic thinking. At the same time, we identified potential for digitization and automation in discussions with several lawyers and developed solutions, which we then implemented and tested using a no-code tool.
We are delighted with the results and the outstanding prototype, which highlights the potential for digitization and support options in the creation of contracts! In addition, the joint implementation of the teaching project illustrates how innovation and application-oriented teaching and learning promote the acquisition of skills!
We would like to thank the Transfer Agency of the University of Hamburg for the funding, as well as the students and all partners, and look forward to further cooperation
