iCub in the Crib

From our group, Josua Spisak visited the group of Matej Hoffman at the Department of Cybernetics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague for an international multidisciplinary collaboration. During this collaboration they replicated a long-used psychological experiment termed the "mobile-paradigm" with the iCub. Uniquely the iCub is lying on its back in a supine position beneath a moving toy and has to figure out how it can influence said toy. It used a neural network that learns through active exploration with a feedback loop (Paper). The experiment also appeared on the Czech television channel Věda-24, which can be found here .
