On 28.11.2019, the base.camp concept was honoured with the Claussen-Simon University Award at the "Ausgezeichnet" event. Prof. Dr. Mathias Fischer, together with Louis Kobras, accepted the prize of 67,000 euros from the Fachschaft Informatik.

The award ceremony took place in the Helmut Schmidt Auditorium of Bucerius Law School. Three out of a total of ten projects were honored, which submitted the most sustainable and convincing concepts for improving learning and teaching. The base.camp convinced the program advisory boards above all with its interdisciplinary orientation and its endeavor to look beyond its own horizons. Speakers included Ties Rabe, the Senator for School and Vocational Training of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, and Georg Joachim Claussen, Chairman of the Board of the Claussen Simon Foundation.
Following the official part of the award ceremony, the participating projects had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the audience with a poster presentation. To conclude the event, there was the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with each other in a nice atmosphere over drinks and food.

The base.camp would like to thank all those who actively participated in the competition and especially the students who contributed significantly to the success with their feedback and suggestions!
