A project from the base.camp at the University of Hamburg has the opportunity to be presented at the 44th Symposium of the European Association of Remote Sensing Laboratories (EARSeL). The focus of the project is the development of software for the fully automated localization of wind turbines in orthophotos, which will then be cross-checked with the market master data register.
The system is based on a two-stage recognition model that combines a "You Only Look Once" (YOLO) model with a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). This approach allows for extremely precise and efficient detection and emphasizes the potential applications of modern image processing in the field of renewable energy.
The project will be represented by Justus Middendorf, who will present the research findings to an international audience at the symposium.
We are excited for Justus and glad that his project is achieving such a successful conclusion!
