Artificial intelligence dominates the headlines, and an entire generation is growing up with generative AI. It aims to upheave what we consider normal, rationalize jobs and work away, render people unnecessary. But it's Christmas, and the story can be told differently. Generative AI can generate images that resonate with us, write texts that are more sensitive and diverse than those of other authors, and maybe it can also choose better Christmas gifts. We can donate differently, and perhaps in a better life, we'll understand the mathematics behind all the magic.
List of Slammers and their topics:
- bleeptrack aka. Sabine Wieluch: Is this Art or can this be put in /dev/null?
- Mijail Guillemard: Homology-Functors, Signals and Formalizations
- Anton Wiehe, Adalab: Visualize Music with Artificial Intelligence
- Peer Stelldinger, HAW: Of Apples and Border Controls
- Ayse Glass, HCU: Creative AI and Data Generation for Smart Cities
- Omar Urdu, UHH: Bits vs. Brains - the big bluff in the Turing duell
- Teresa and the TUHH GANg: GAN Gone Wild! Scandalous Showdown Between AI Models Exposed
We asked people who could tell entertaining and important things about the foundations of artificial intelligence, its applications that make life easier or more sustainable, and above all, what it can achieve/generate. Some answers have arrived, which we shared with you while celebrating another colorful evening of digitalization.
The Science Slam will be accompanied and framed by an exhibition of small and large interactive stations. With quartet cards, an unknown monster biotope at Fundbureau, a photobooth that lets you travel in parallel worlds, the contemporary archive of unknown quotes from famous authors, an art exhibition of generative art alongside real artworks, curated by our guests, and a plotter drawing unique stencil art.
