NET5: Industrial Research

On the 25th and 26th of September 2025, we met at PAL Robotics in Barcelona for our NET5 workshop on the topic of "Industrial Research".

The DCs presented their research on the first day, followed by a tour of the PAL premises and their various robots. After lunch, Luca Marchioni (CTO at PAL) held a talk on "Best Practices and Experiences in Pitching a Company Idea", followed by Tito Favaro (Industrial Designer at PAL) and his talk on the "PAL Robots Design Process with a Start-Up Mentality".

Afterward, we discussed the organization of NET6, the TRAIL PhD Conference, in the context of our bi-yearly Management and Supervisory Board Meeting.

On the second day, the DCs presented the results of their group projects from their academic secondments and LCA5. Afterward, they learned how to pitch an idea to a company based on the STOCKBOT example, with short pitch presentations supervised by Gizem Bozdemir and Alex Font (Stockbot Business Manager).
