Congratulations to Navin Raj Prabhu for the successful defense of his PhD on emotion recognition at the University of Hamburg! It has been a privilege to work with Navin on this interdisciplinary research, conducted together with Nale Lehmann-Willenbrock from the Department of Psychology.

One of Navin’s greatest strengths throughout this project has been his ability to bridge perspectives from computer science and psychology. He consistently combined technical rigor with a deep understanding of human behavior, enabling him to develop methods that are both innovative and meaningful across disciplines.

Special thanks go to Carlos Busso for serving as the external reviewer, and to Frank Steinicke and Stefan Wermter for their valuable support as committee members.
