Presentations and awards at the SE 2023 conference
24 February 2023, by SWK
At the SE 2023 conference, the SWK team presented two research articles, and two of our students participated successfully in the Student Research Competition.
The Software Engineering (SE) 2023 conference took place on February 20–24 in Paderborn. Several members of the SWK group were attending the conference and presented contributions. The SE conference is a meeting for the German-speaking SE community and features a "best of" approach with presentations of results that have been published in the previous year at international venues.
We presented our works on Preventing technical debt with the TAP framework for Technical Debt Aware Management by Marion Wiese, Paula Rachow, Matthias Riebisch and Julian Schwarze (originally published in the IST journal: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.infsof.2022.106926) and API Deprecation: A Systematic Mapping Study by Leif Bonorden and Matthias Riebisch (originally published at SEAA 2022 conference: https://doi.org/10.1109/SEAA56994.2022.00076).
We congratulate Luka Zdravkovic and Frieso Ritter for placing first and third place in the Student Research Competition. They presented the result of their bachelor's theses. Luka presented a game to increase awareness of Technical Debt, while Frieso evaluated commit messages about their mentioned refactoring in Python projects. Luka and Frieso developed their thesis within the SWK group under the supervision of Marion Wiese and Paula Rachow, respectively.
