Chandrakant Bothe successfully defended his doctoral thesis titled "Conversational Language Learning for Human-Robot Interaction" on 18th Nov 2020. During his PhD work, Chandrakant Bothe was a research fellow in the European Training Network: Safety Enables Cooperation in Uncertain Robotic Environments (SECURE) project. The thesis describes novel analytical approaches and findings in terms of socio-linguistic cues such as emotion, sentiment and politeness using conversational analysis and language learning. The research demonstrates how such socio-linguistic signals help modify different behaviours by social robots for natural and safer human-robot interaction. Congratulations to Chandrakant by the Knowledge Technology team!
