Abstract:
Changes are required to evolve software systems and are required to be tested to ensure their correctness. Testing of changes is expensive and often requires one third of a project's budget. Model-based regression testing minimize the testing cost and effort by selecting a test subset earlier. However, dependency relations among models complicate regression testing by causing change propagation.

This thesis presents a model-based regression testing approach, that uses dependency relations to forecast the impact of changes on tests. It integrates model-driven test generation as well as rule-based approaches to support dependency detection, impact analysis, and test classification.
