Titel der Dissertation:
Adaptive Approaches to Natural Language Processing in Annotation and Application

Abstract:
Natural language processing applications depend on machine learning components that in turn require a large number of training examples. To tackle this problem, the thesis focuses on 1) ex-ploring the rapid annotation paradigm for the collection of datasets, and 2) integrating adaptive and personalized models into NLP applications. The first is addressed by building different an-notation tools with rapid annotation capabilities. The second is materialized by developing a se-mantic writing aid tool, which embeds an adaptive model that is trained and continuously im-proved, based on usage data.
