Einladung zur hochschulöffentlichen Disputation im Rahmen des Promotionsverfahrens von Kristina Tesch

Titel der Dissertation: Non-linear Spatial Filtering for Multi-channel Speech Enhancement and Separation

Speech enhancement and separation algorithms aim to improve the quality and intelligibility of one or multiple target speech signals. While traditional approaches combine a linear spatial filter with a tempo-spectral post-filter, recently developed deep neural network (DNN) based approaches jointly process spatial and tempo-spectral information with a non-linear function. This dissertation investigates the benefit of a non-linear spatial filter from a statistical perspective and contributes to the design and understanding of DNN-based non-linear spatial filters.
