Titel der Dissertation: Methoden zur geometrischen Suche in Proteinstruktursammlungen

Intermolecular interactions are essential for protein function and stability. Computer-aided drug design relies on analyzing binding sites in protein-ligand and protein-protein complexes available in databases such as the Protein Data Bank. To meet the demand for efficient analysis tools, three methods were developed. The first method accurately predicts binding sites by discretizing proteins using a grid. The second method creates a database of binding sites for efficient searches. The third method assesses the similarity of protein-protein binding sites through automatically generated search queries.
