Einladung zur hochschulöffentlichen Disputation im Rahmen des Promotionsverfahrens von Tom Weber
Titel der Dissertation: Constructing and Benchmarking Noise Models for Quantum Computing
The main obstacle to quantum computing on its way to scalability is the noisy behaviour of current machines. Understanding errors and predicting their impact on computations is essential to counteract them with methods such as quantum error mitigation. Therefore, this thesis presents an approach to construct noise models and train their parameters. Moreover, it introduces benchmarks to evaluate the accuracy of noise models and uses them to assess the resulting model of the training procedure.
