Titel der Dissertation: Emerging Threats to Online Security: Securing Systems Against Unauthorized Automation and Web Bots

Web bots undermine trust, automate interactions, and scrape content to train AI models. While behavioral analysis currently enables detection, it may struggle as bots increasingly mimic human behavior. To enable targeted detection, a reverse engineering technique is introduced for efficient analysis of bot binaries. Obfuscation on the application layer addresses the main problem of bots, their easy scalability, by introducing client-specific protocols that increase the cost of large-scale abuse.
