The Department of Informatics at the University of Hamburg is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Linda Kleist as its new professor of theoretical computer science, specializing in algorithms and complexity. Prof. Dr. Kleist's research focuses on fundamental questions of algorithms and complexity, with a particular emphasis on algorithmic geometry, geometric graph theory, graph drawing, and geometric optimization problems.
She is particularly interested in questions that concern both graphs and geometry and are related to real-life problems. These include, for example, packing problems, geometric representations of data, and reconfiguration problems, which often play an important role in practical applications.
We warmly welcome Prof. Dr. Kleist and look forward to exciting collaboration and new impetus in research and teaching!
