Attendance at ECSA '23 in Istanbul
18 September 2023, by SWK
Two papers of the SWK research group have been presented at the ECSA conference.
Members of our group recently had the privilege of attending the 17th European Conference on Software Architecture (ECSA23) in Istanbul, Turkey, which took place from September 18 to September 22, 2023. Among the multitude of distinguished attendees from around the world, our group has made a notable impact at ECSA23, with two of its members, Sebastian Frank and Marion Wiese, presenting their research and contributing to the conference in various capacities.
Marion Wiese presented a paper at the industry track. The paper, titled "Learning from Each Other: How Are Architectural Mistakes Communicated in Industry?," authored by Marion Wiese, Axel-Frederik Brand, and André van Hoorn, explores the communication of architectural mistakes in the software industry. Moreover, Marion Wiese served in the program committee and chaired the Modelling session at the conference, underscoring her leadership and expertise in the field of software architecture. Sebastian Frank presented a paper titled "TQPropRefiner: Interactive Comprehension and Refinement of Specifications on Transient Software Quality Properties" at the 1st International Workshop on Quality in Software Architecture (QUALIFIER 2023). His work delves into the comprehension of transient behavior and refinement of specifications on transient software quality properties based on visualizations and interaction techniques. This research is highly relevant in today's software engineering landscape, where the need for adaptable and high-quality software is ever-increasing. The paper authored by Sebastian Frank, Julian Brott, Alireza Hakamian, and André van Hoorn can be accessed here: https://www.fis.uni-hamburg.de/en/publikationen/detail.html?id=a9ada242-a0be-46d9-81f5-e3d6fd39eb12.
The next ECSA conference is scheduled to be held in Luxembourg. Our group anticipates the opportunity to present their latest research findings at this esteemed conference and to continue our active participation in shaping the future of software architecture.
