Disputation of Paula Rachow

Paula Rachow successfully defended her doctoral dissertation.
We are pleased to announce that Paula Rachow successfully defended her doctoral dissertation "Utilizing Architecture Maintainability Smells to Identify and Prioritize Large Refactoring Opportunities" on June 16, 2025.
Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Matthias Riebisch, Prof. Dr. André van Hoorn and Dr. Sebastian Werner, Paula Rachow consolidated architecture maintainability smells into a comprehensive knowledge base and developed a decision framework to prioritize refactoring in complex systems. The examination commission evaluating Paula Rachow's work consisted of Dr. Sebastian Werner (UHH, research group SWK), Prof. Dr. Anne Koziolek (KIT – Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), Prof. Dr. Janick Edinger (UHH, research group DOS), and Prof. Dr. Hannes Federrath (UHH, research group SVS).
Paula Rachow has been a member of our SWK research group since 2018, participating in research, teaching and other activities. We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Paula Rachow on her success and wish her all the best for her future career.
