Marion Wiese successfully defended her doctoral dissertation.

We are delighted to announce that Marion Wiese successfully defended her doctoral thesis on the topic of ‘Sustainably Establishing Technical Debt Management in Practice’ on 28 May 2026. We warmly congratulate her on this achievement!

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Riebisch, Prof. Dr.-Ing. André van Hoorn and Prof. Dr. Eva Bittner, Marion Wiese has developed a transferable implementation methodology for the management of technical debt.

The examination commission evaluating Marion Wiese's work consisted of Prof. Dr. Eva Bittner (University of Zurich), Prof. Dr. Carolyn Seaman (University of Maryland), Dr. Sebastian Werner (TU Berlin), Prof. Dr. Janick Edinger (UHH, research group DOS), and Prof. Dr. Linda Kleist (UHH, research group ALGO).

Marion was a member of our research group from April 2020 to March 2026 and has always been highly committed and successful in her contributions to teaching, research and project work.
