All licensed e-books of the libraries of University of Hamburg and the Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Hamburg can be searched via the Campus Catalogue or the Katalogplus and are linked there. The e-book packages listed below are only a part of the e-book offer.

Licence conditions for eBooks

You are only allowed to reproduce (e.g. copy, download) single chapters or pages, and only for personal scientific use. No disclosure to a third party. No systematic downloading by robots. (Exception: Springer eBooks can be downloaded completely.)

Springer eBooks

The entire range of eBooks from Springer Verlag you can find on SpringerLink, eBooks licensed by the University of Hamburg you will find in the Campus Catalogue. New titles will be added constantly.

All Springer eBooks are licensed with multi-user access.
Complete downloads of eBooks from the platform Springer Link are possible. Downloaded pdf files are provided DRM-free, but includes an invisible watermark due to copyright protection. Please note the regulations of German copyright law when using. Downloading systematically complete online books or large parts of them is usually not allowed according to the copyright law. Please pay attention especially to § 53 Copies for private and other own usage (Vervielfältigungen zum privaten und sonstigen eigenen Gebrauch) of the German Copyright Act (UrhG).

ProQuest Ebook Central

The Informatics Library offer access to eBooks from various publishers via the eBook platform ProQuest Ebook Central. The licensed titles are available in the Campus Catalogue and in Katalogplus and are accessible via the campus network.

The eBooks are restricted by digital rights management. These limit online use, printing and forwarding. A one-time free registration allows you to download, copy and print individual chapters, set bookmarks and add markers and notes. Detailed instructions and tips for use (in German).

Please remember to log out of ProQuest Ebook Central at the end of your session, as many eBooks are only licensed with single-user access. Automatic time-out occurs after 15 minutes of inactivity. If you receive a message when opening an eBook that access is currently not possible, please try again after some time.

MIT Press Computing & Engineering Collection eBooks Library

The MIT Press Computing & Engineering Collection eBooks Library (currently up to publication year 2021) includes nearly 900 monographs, textbooks, and reference works. Access is available via the IEEE Xplore platform.

The titles are searchable within the library catalogues and - like all licensed eBooks - accessible from the university IP range (or VPN). An overview of the available titles with the individual links is available via the Campus Catalogue or Katalogplus.
