Tips for wheelchair users
Students in wheelchairs will find the ramp to the East entrance of Building B (library, cafeteria) relatively accessible.
On the ground floor a disabled toilet is installed in the stairwell. Please take advantage of the side entrance to the library, (normally closed) so that you can visit all public areas of the library.
In the library rooms there is a disabled elevator that will take you to the second floor of Building B, with arrival at the cafeteria situated there, as well as the Konrad-Zuse auditorium
The ground floor of Building C (ITMC) is easy to reach at ground level from the South entrance, and from there leads directly to the same level ground floor of Building D, which is also where the second disabled toilet of the computer science department is situated.
The upper floor of Building C(ML, MOBIS, TGI) is only accessible for wheelchair users via the roof of the foot-bridge CD, which can be treacherous in bad weather
In Building D(RZ, SWA, SWK, MBS) wheelchair users can also reach the upper or lower floor with the existing goods lift. However, the freight elevator is not a "self-propelled lift", and can only be operated by qualified personnel. The wheelchair user is obliged to ask for help (e.g. at reception) in order to reach the lecture rooms or computer rooms in the basement or on the first floor. Under certain circumstances it may be necessary to wait some time before someone is available to work the elevator
There is a ramp at the South entrance to Building F (TIS, WTM, TAMS, NATS, WSV, VSIS, SVS, TKRN). Building R (KOGS, SAV) and the upper floor (MBS, SWA SWK) and basement (RZ) of Building D at the same level can be reached without assistance.
Automatic doors are not available everywhere. But here you can ask others for help when needed.
No wheelchair accessibility is possible – with the exception of the library - on all floors of Building A, notably the department office, the premises of the faculty administration and the academic office.
