Alumni Association HIForum e.V.

The Alumni Association HIForum e.V. provides a link between students, graduates and companies, by endeavouring to promote the exchange of views, news etc. between present and past members of the Department of Informatics and between their partners in commerce, academic research and industry. In addition to promoting professional viewpoints, HIForum strives towards a permanent cooperation with the alumni.

HIForum is a registered charity. The association consists of an Executive Board, a Board of Trustees and the General Assembly.

To promote professional views and the exchange of information, HIForum aims to

• hold meetings and events,
• hold lectures and conferences for further education,
• carry out demonstrations and visits in the field of computer science,
• report on the state of computer science, especially in the Hamburg area,
• promote facilities that involve computer science,
• issue regular newsletters with information on developments and events at the Department of Informatics,
• encourage former students and graduates to share their professional experience with current students for the further curricular development of the department,
• enhance hereby the public image of the department and
• support graduates during their transition to professional life.
