Application
In order to study at the University of Hamburg with an Erasmus scholarship, you must first apply for a place in the Erasmus program at your home university. If your application is successful, your university will nominate you for our program. Once we have received your nomination, we will send you an email with further information on how to apply online at the University of Hamburg and how to apply for a place in one of our student dorms.
Language skills
In order to study in the Department of Informatics under the Erasmus program, you must have language skills in the language of instruction at level B1 or higher. This requirement is in your interest, as otherwise you would not be able to follow the classes and fulfill the academic requirements
Semester dates
Winter semester: 1 October to 31 March
Summer semester: 1 April to 30 September
Please note that the lecture period, i.e., when classes are held, is different from these dates: current lecture periods.

The list of courses that will be taught in the following semester will be published in August for the winter term and in February for the summer term. Please use the course plan of the year before as an orientation.
You can see the course catalogs with a course description, the language of instruction, and the number of credits for the various informatics degree programs here in STiNE (study information network).
There is a list of informatics courses open to all computer science students without further review for the winter term and summer term.
The basic modules listed here are open university-wide and
can be chosen by all students - including other majors and ERASMUS students of other majors.
In STiNE you can find other subjects, which are open to all interested students. Chose <Course catalogue>, chose a semester, <Miscellanious courses and events>, <Lehrveranstaltungen für Hörer/innen aller Fakultäten>, then chose a department.
