Sebastian Werner appointed as acting head of SWK

Sebastian Werner leads the SWK research group in winter semester 2024/2025 and summer semester 2025.

We welcome Sebastian Werner as acting professor and interim head of SWK research group! He takes over this role from October 2024 to September 2025, while the academic search process for a permanent appointment is conducted.

At UHH, Sebastian Werner starts teaching immediately in the modules SE 1, SEE and SWA, allowing the group to offer most of their usual courses. Read more about our plans for teaching in the upcoming semesters.

Sebastian Werner joins UHH from the Information Systems Engineering group at TU Berlin, where he was working in a Postdoc position for teaching (e.g., cloud native engineering) and research (e.g., EU project TEADAL). For more information, see his homepage at TU Berlin.

This interim appointment follows the deaths of former SWK professors Matthias Riebisch (1963–2023, → obituary in English, → Nachruf auf Deutsch) and André van Hoorn (1981–2024, → obituary in English, → Nachruf auf Deutsch).
