New Schedule of Fees for Academic Libraries in Hamburg

The Senate of Hamburg issued a new scale of fees for academic libraries in Hamburg effective April 1st, 2016.

For most of you there are no changes. As usual you will get an email 3 days before the loan period ends.

Only the fees are calculated differently.

Exceeding the loan period is charged per item and reminder:

• from the first day of overdue: €1
• at the end of the first week: €2 additionally
• at the end of the second week: €5 additionally (you will be blocked automatically, no circulation activities will be possible then.)
• at the end of the fourth week: €10 additionally

Compared to the previous method: If you return your book two weeks too late, the fee increases from € 2 to € 3. The maximum fee per item will be 18, - €  (instead of 25, - € formerly).

The fee for reservation does not change (€0,80 per item).
