Einbinden über WebDAV
As an alternative to VPN/CIFS, it is also possible to access user data via the WebDAV protocol.
This is of particular interest to owners of smartphones and tablet computers (Android, Blackberry, iPad, etc.), as WebDAV apps are often available here, which allow secure access directly to the data directories via SSL encryption.
However, it must be pointed out that many of the WebDAV apps offered are unfortunately flawed and cannot work with large data directories or complex subdirectory structures, for example. For this reason, the IRZ cannot provide support for certain WebDAV apps.
The prefix for the access address of the WebDAV service of computer science is:
https://webdav.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/WebDAV/
For employees, the familiar path structure of the work area follows, e.g.:
https://webdav.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/WebDAV/rz
or for direct access to your own directory:
https://webdav.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/WebDAV/rz/home/mustermann
For student users, access to their own directory depends on the file server on which the account is maintained (historical development for capacity reasons) :
If your home-directory access path contains the embedding "informatik1" (= data on the server "rzfilesrv1"), the WebDAV path results for the student user "1musterm", for example:
https://webdav.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/WebDAV/students1/home/1musterm
If your home-directory access path contains the embedding "informatik2" (= data on the server "rzfilesrv2"), the WebDAV path is corresponding:
https://webdav.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/WebDAV/students2/home/1musterm
