Using WLAN "UHH" with VPN

When using decoded „UHH“ –WLANs, an identification is not necessary, as this - depending on the system software – could be too complex to configure. For internet service, an additional VPN-Connection must be set up to ensure the authentication and security of transmission/encoding in subsequent data traffic.

Please note: When "UHH"-WLAN is connected, the Regional Computer Centre of Universität Hamburg (which operates the WLAN-infrastructure) sets a standardised diversion for internet browsers to automatically provide you with general access information on the WLAN-network of the university as soon as the internet browser appears. In the previous paragraph "VPN" we mentioned the installation of a CISCO-Anyconnect-Clients’-Software. This is only required for access to the VPN-Server of the RRZ, which however is not available to Informatics! The VPN-Server of Informatics on the other hand requires no special software.
