Thema
|
Can Systems Development Methodologies Solve Problems? |
Zusammenfassung
|
Information systems and software engineering fields are blessed with many methodologies ranging from
formal/mathematical to soft/humanistic ones. Some have proven their application potential in specific situations
but in general, no methodology can solve systems problems. Yet, without methodologies we are unable to make
much progress or be accountable for the expenditure on IS/IT development. This seminar will discuss the rationale of a framework that enables one to examine the contribution methodologies make in practice. It calls for evaluation as a central criteria for examination of methodology contribution in any systems development and as a way of building organisational member's learning. |
