Informatics VPN on Windows 10

Since the Informatics VPN Server is currently a Microsoft product, access from any Windows client can be set up in the operating system configuration without any additional software.

Information for experts:

Internet address

of the Informatics VPN server: fbivpn.informatik.uni-hamburg.de,

Target name

is for you to choose, e.g. Informatics VPN,

Username and Password

refer to your Informatics account (e.g. INFORMATIK\0usernam). The domain name prefix INFORMATIK\ must be used before your actual account name.

Shared key:

This key is identical for all users:

For now select "automatic" in the connection adapter settings for the connection type determination. A higher level of security during transmission can be achieved with the "Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol (SSTP)", see the notes in the step-by-step instructions.
